Kaitlyn BeckBrand & web designer

About

Hello, I'm Kaitlyn.

I am a designer based in Ontario with 12+ years of experience. My work spans branding, editorial design, websites and digital products, print, marketing, copywriting, and creative direction, often on the same project.

Background and range

Over the years I have partnered with local start-ups, established organizations, and community-focused businesses. The projects range from a single logo to a multi-page stone catalogue, from a restaurant menu to a full trailer wrap, and from a website redesign to a month of social content.

That range is deliberate. A brand rarely lives in one place, and I like being the person who can carry it from the identity into the catalogue, the signage, the website, and the words. It means fewer handoffs and fewer places for the idea to drift.

Copywriting is part of my practice, not an add-on. I write brand voice, website copy, campaign messaging, articles, and product descriptions, and I edit what clients bring me so the words and the visuals tell one story.

Approach

I start by understanding the goal, the audience, and the setting. A billboard, a product table, and a social template are read at different distances and with different levels of attention, so each gets designed for where it will actually be seen.

Structure comes next. Grids, typography, spacing, and hierarchy do most of the work in making something feel clear and confident, and I treat them as the foundation of every area I work in rather than a separate service.

I work collaboratively and I credit collaborative work honestly. Where a project was a team effort or a redesign of an existing site, the case study says exactly what I contributed.
